Born in 1983 in Pula, Croatia. After finishing primary and secondary music school in Pula in the class of Prof. Orhida Antunović, studied accordion at the Music Academy in Pula in the class of Prof. Slavko Magdić, and at HMTM in Hannover (Germany) in the class of Prof. Elsbeth Moser. In addition to the regular studies, he continued his development in masterclasses of renowned accordion virtuosos and pedagogues: A. Skliarov, P. Soave, V. Semionov, O. Murray, M. Rantanen, S. Hussong, I. Alberdi, T. Anzellotti, I. Battiston, C. Jacomucci, M. Väyrynen, B. Lenko, R. Tomić, J. Đorđević, M. Bjeletić and others.
He received the prestigious DAAD scholarship for artists in 2009 and 2010. His education was further supported by scholarships from the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Pula. From 1997 to 2010 he participated with great success and won numerous prizes, as a soloist and member of various chamber ensembles and orchestras in numerous national and international competitions including some of the most renowned ones: CMA Trophee Mondial, CIA Coupe Mondiale, PIF Castelfidardo, International Accordion Competition in Klingenthal, International Accordion Competition in Pula. As a soloist, and member of chamber ensembles and orchestras he has performed in many European countries at music festivals including Niedersächsische Musiktage, Braunschweig Classics, RE Musica, Prishtina International Young Music Festival, Music Tribune in Pula, and concert halls and venues including Arena of Pula, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Staatsoper Hannover, Akademie der Künste Berlin, Slovenian Philharmonic Hall. He performed as a soloist with orchestras and participated in the premiere performances of Đeni Dekleva-Radaković, Sanja Drakulić, Bashkim Shehu, Damir Bužleta, Arta Zeqiraj, Wolfgang Fernow and others. From 2010 to 2015 he was a professor of classical accordion and chamber music at the Music Academy in Pula. He currently lives and works in Hanover, Germany where he is an external collaborator of the Hannover State Opera, and is the conductor of two accordion orchestras Braunschweig Akkordeon-Orchester and 1. Akkordeon-Orchester Langenhagen. In addition to artistic activity, he is also engaged in pedagogical work. In 2023, he worked as an expert associate and educator on projects organized by the German Accordion Association (DHV) and the Central German Association for Choirs and Orchestras (BMCO). He is the president of the organizing committee of the "International Accordion Competition” in Pula, Croatia. Coordinator of the International Competition for Accordion Orchestras and Ensembles organized by the World Accordion Association (CMA), as well as a national delegate for Croatia by the CMA association. He is the artistic advisor and co-organizer of the international accordion festival "CAM Accordion Festival" in Villa Castelli, Italy. Regularly taking part in juries at various international accordion competitions and giving master classes in various European countries. |
