Alberdi has collaborated closely with different current composers and premiered works by Sofia Gubaidulina, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Luis de Pablo, Joan Guinjoan, Gabriel Erkoreka, Ramon Lazkano, Jesús Torres, Pascal Gaigne, Alberto Posadas, Federico Jusid and José María Sánchez-Verdú.
In 2012 he was nominated for the “Gramophon Editor’s Choice Award” for his monographic recording about Sofia Gubaidulina with the Basque Country Orchestra and Asier Polo and José Ramón Encinar as a conductor, in 2015 he obtained the “Exceptional Scherzo Recording” for the “Conciertos para acordeón y orquesta” cd with the Spanish National Orchestra of Spain under the direction of Nacho de Paz and in 2017 he was awarded with the “Melómano de Oro” by Sensations cd for IBS label. He has performed in numerous concert halls and appeared at a wide variety of festivals, including Fenice Theatre (Venecia), Musikverein (Viena), Arsenal Hall (Metz), National Auditorium (Madrid), Quincena Musical de San Sebastián, Duke Hall (Londres), Hermitage (San Petersburgo), Ostertoene Festival (Hamburgo), Cairo Opera Theatre, Autum Festival of Varsovia, San Petersburgo Philarmonic Hall, Staattsoper Stuttgar, Festival of Music and Danza of Granada, Bienale of Venecia – Goldoni Theatre, Auditorium - Barcelona, Mostly Modern Series of Dublin, Teatro Colón - Buenos Aires and Teatro Solís - Montevideo. Iñaki Alberdi is a guest performer with orchestras as the Royal Liverpool Philarmonic, the Tampere Chamber Orchestra, the Spanish National Orchestra, the Granada City Shymphony Orchestra, the Spanish Radio and TV Orchestra, the Galicia Philarmonic Orchestra, the Madrid Symphony Orchestra, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, the Andorra Chamber Orchestra, the Magnitogorsk Symphony Orchestra, the Malaga Philarmonic Orchestra, the Montevideo Philarmonic Orchestra, the Basque Country Orchestra, the RTS Blegradeand or the Russian Ministery of Culture Orchestra. Among other conductors, he has performed under Juanjo Mena, Josep Pons, Vasily Petrenko, Adrian Leaper, Christian Vásquez, Baldur Brönnimann, Pablo González, Pedro Halfter, Ernesto Halfter, Alexei Artemiev, Nacho de Paz, Bojan Sudic, Melanie Thiebaut or José Ramón Encinar. He is currently professor of the High School of Music of the Basque Country – Musikene and he was professor of High School of Music of Catalunya – Esmuc (2001-2013), Pôle d’ Enseignement Superieur de Musique de Bordeaux (2014-2016), invited professor of FHNW Hochschule für Musik – Basel (2015-2018), invited professor for doctored programs at the Sibelius Academy of Helsinki (2016-2019). |
